Sauna and cold-water bathing put real demands on the body, and they aren't suitable for everyone. By booking and attending The Beacon Sauna, you agree to the following.

Your health

You confirm that you are in good health and have no medical condition that could be made worse by heat, cold water or rapid changes in temperature. Sauna and cold-dip use may not be suitable if you have, among other things:

If you are pregnant, if you have had alcohol or drugs, or if you are unsure for any reason, please speak to your GP or a healthcare professional before taking part.

Our salt scrub and the steam use essential oils. If you have allergies, sensitive skin or a respiratory condition, please tell us before you use them.

Contagious conditions

If you have a contagious skin condition or other transmissible illness, please don't use the facilities until it has cleared, or a doctor has confirmed it is no longer contagious.

Assumption of risk

You take part voluntarily and accept the risks involved, including but not limited to overheating, dehydration, the effects of cold exposure, slips and falls. You accept responsibility for your own health and safety during your visit.

The sea and the cold dip

Our cold dip is the open Atlantic at our beach. The sea is a natural, changing environment: tides, currents, waves, weather and water temperature are outside our control. If you choose to enter the water, you do so entirely at your own risk. Follow any guidance we give, stay within your depth and ability, and never enter the water if you are not confident or feel unwell.

Your responsibilities

You agree to follow our team's instructions and safety guidance, and to tell us straight away if you feel unwell or uncomfortable. Swimwear (togs) must be worn in the sauna and for the dip.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, The Beacon Sauna and its team are not liable for injury, loss or damage during your visit, or for anything that happens if you enter the sea or other natural surroundings. Nothing here removes rights that cannot be excluded under Irish law. Please report any accident or incident to us at the time so it can be properly recorded.

Age

Shared sessions are for adults aged 18 or over. Under-18s may take part in a private booking only when accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them and stays with them throughout, including in the sauna and at the water. We may ask for valid photo ID.

Personal belongings

You are responsible for your belongings. We are not liable for loss, damage or theft, except where caused by our negligence.

Acknowledgement

By booking, you confirm that you have read and understood this disclaimer, and that you are taking part at your own risk.
