This policy explains how Wilder Sauna Limited (company number 826200, registered office Ballygroman Upper, Ovens, Co. Cork), trading as The Beacon Sauna ("we", "us", and the data controller) collects and uses your personal information when you visit beaconsauna.ie, book a session, or get in touch. We're based in Co. Cork, and you can reach us at info@beaconsauna.ie. We handle your information in line with the GDPR and Irish data protection law.
What we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, and anything you include when you book, contact us, or sign up to receive our location.
- Booking and payment information: handled through our booking provider and payment processor. We don't store full card details ourselves.
- Information collected automatically: basic technical data such as your device, browser and IP address, which our website host logs to deliver the site and keep it secure.
How we use your information
- To take and manage your bookings and payments.
- To run and improve the sauna and the website.
- To reply to your messages.
- To email you our location and our latest updates, if you've signed up (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To send you other updates or offers, if you've asked us to (you can opt out any time).
- To keep the place safe and prevent fraud.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Our legal bases
Depending on the purpose, we rely on: performing our contract with you (to take your booking); your consent (for marketing); our legitimate interests (running and improving the business, and keeping people safe); and our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the service: with our booking platform (bookasession.org), our payment processor, and providers who help us with things like email, website hosting and form handling. We don't sell your data. We may share information where the law requires it.
Cookies
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't currently use analytics. Our fonts are served from this website, not from Google or another third party. Our booking provider (bookasession.org) and payment processor may set their own cookies when you use their pages, under their own policies. If we add analytics later, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires, then delete or anonymise it. If you sign up to receive our location, we keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to: give you access to the data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or provide a copy to move elsewhere. You can also withdraw consent for marketing at any time. To make a request, email info@beaconsauna.ie; we may need to confirm your identity first.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's supervisory authority, at dataprotection.ie.
Children
The site and our services are not aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on recognised safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
